Where is the concert?

Located on the Northern coast of the island, it consists of vineyards with some altitude of various grape varieties producing white, rosé and red wines. Verdelho is the most important grape variety, with high-quality white wines, although the reds have been increasingly demanded.

Over the last few years, this producer has invested in a differentiated tourist offer, by building a traditional wine press in its facilities, which allows to receive tourists and serve appetisers and even some meals, to accompany the tasting of its wines.

And, during the harvests, there is even the possibility of treading on foot, which is always a curiosity. The landscape is magnificent, with the mountains of the northern coast up there, interspersed with gentle valleys that take much of the abundant water to the sea.

Who is Playing?

VAREJENTA is the Madeiran term attributed to Viola d’Arame. This connotation results from the fact that the “low sound” produced by the instrument resembles the sound of a “flying-Varejeira”.

This project aims to preserve Madeira Music and “Chordphones” has as its repertoire Traditional and Popular Madeira themes, Classical Music, Originals by Madeiran musicians, among others.

In their performance, the two musicians interpret “Rajão”, “Viola d’Arame” and voice, where other traditional instruments are sometimes joined, such as: “Machete/Braguinha”, “Rajão Dobrado” and “Viola d’Arame Requinta”

It is a Duo composed by Lara Nunes and Roberto Moniz, that will present us a repertoire that shows the potential of the 3 Cordophones and some typical Madeiran genres, as well as some originals.
